On Tuesday the 13th October our residents at Astbury Mere were visited by children from the local Havannah Primary School in Congleton. This day marked what would have been Roald Dahl’s 106th birthday, so it seemed fitting to celebrate the occasion by sharing some of his greatest books and poems. The children enjoyed the chance to read their favourite parts of these novels to our residents, and were even generous enough to loan us a small collection of books to read. This session provided a brilliant opportunity for intergenerational conversation, and was particularly appreciated by two of our residents who were previously teachers. We look forward to welcoming the students back soon.
