Bordering the historic mill town of Congleton and the delightful village of Astbury in the heart of East Cheshire, Astbury Mere enjoys a truly enviable position. Whilst only a few minutes drive from the centre of town, the home enjoys a leafy setting adjacent to the natural open beauty of Astbury Mere Country Park. Astbury Mere is also less than 20 minutes away from Biddulph, Kidsgrove and Sandbach.

Opened in 2010, Astbury Mere provides 24 hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care for the elderly in an elegant and spacious home incorporating numerous thoughtful and practical features which ensure Astbury Mere is able to meet the changing needs of its residents.

Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

All residents benefit from living in a caring environment with generously appointed private bedrooms with en suite wetrooms, and plentiful communal living areas including sitting rooms, restaurants, a hairdressing salon, a activities and wellbeing room and a private dining room for special family occasions.

In keeping with our unique and award winning activities and wellbeing philosophy, our residents also benefit from our private and secure landscaped gardens for peaceful relaxation, gardening and if the weather permits, gentle exercising.

News & Events at Astbury Mere

30 miles for Dementia UK!

Our incredible Home Manager, Emma, took on a special challenge throughout September: walking 30 miles to raise vital funds for a great cause at Dementia UK.

Emma has dedicated the past 30 years to supporting individuals living with dementia and caring for people and their loved ones. This challenge aimed to raise awareness, support families and help make sure nobody has to face dementia alone.

Every £33 raised could help fund a specialist Admiral Nurse to spend an hour supporting a family in the community. That one hour could mean reassurance when someone feels overwhelmed, expert advice when they don’t know where to turn, and someone there to remind a family that they’re not alone.

During her many walks throughout the month, Emma had her walking partner with her: Penny, her lovely dog.

We couldn’t be prouder of Emma for taking on this challenge and putting her heart, time and energy into something that means so much to her.

A fabulous afternoon by the seaside!

This month, we enjoyed fresh sea air, delicious fish and chips, sweet treats and lots of happy memories together on our day out to the beach.

There were smiles all round while we strolled along the promenade, listening to the sounds of the waves – here’s to more adventures together!

A huge congratulations to our wonderful Employee of the Month, Debs!

Debs was nominated for consistently showing genuine compassion and kindness to every resident she supports. Her caring nature shines through in everything she does, always treating others with dignity, respect, and warmth.

Not only does she go above and beyond in her role, but she has also generously volunteered her own time to help in our garden—even on her days off! Her dedication, selflessness, and commitment to creating a beautiful environment for our residents truly embody the spirit of our team.

Debs approaches every responsibility with professionalism, respect, and heartfelt compassion, making a real difference to the lives of those around her every single day.
