Superb sunflowers!

Back in April our Deer Park residents got together to plant sunflower seeds in preparation for the annual Porthaven Garden Challenge sunflower competition, and after some time in our greenhouse and plenty of warm weather it was time to plant them in the garden! So in June ten of our residents picked out the best spots for their sunflowers and worked alongside the wonderful Beth from John Masefield Sixth Form to delicately transport them into the soil. Our resident Pam, whose flower is currently measuring in at just under 5ft, is hoping her sunflower will have what it takes to tower above the rest and win us the competition!
