News & Events at Hartfield House

Meet our new Home Manager, Rimi!

We would like to introduce you to our amazing new Home Manager Rimi, who joined us in January. Rimi has worked in the care sector for over 15 years and has a passion for care that started when she assisted her mother in nursing her father, who was living with Parkinsons and dementia. Whilst nursing her father, Rimi saw care from the perspective of the carer and the person needing the care, and it was this experience that led her to venture into care hoping to make a positive difference to those she worked with.

Rimi has two children, one of whom is studying to become a brain surgeon, and is very family-oriented. Rimi enjoys getting together with her extended family to celebrate life with those she loves. Rimi also has a passion for reiki healing and mindfulness. Welcome to the team, Rimi – we are thrilled to have you!

Magical music

Music plays a big part in life here at Hartfield House, so recently we were thrilled to have the wonderful Krishna and Radha perform for our residents! Krishna and Radha, whose mother is part of our lovely night care team, treated our residents to some amazing music and songs, which everybody thoroughly enjoyed. We are already looking forward to the summer holidays so that we can ask Krishna and Radha to come perform for us again!

Spring has sprung

Back in November, we planted plenty of seeds ready for the spring, and recently we have begun to see the rewards of our hard work as our daffodils and tulips have begun to bloom! As part of this year’s Porthaven Garden Challenge we are striving to make our garden more sustainable, so we have installed large compost bins on site that will enable us to recycle all of our garden waste, reduce time spent on the road driving to our local refuge centre and also make our own compost. We have also cleaned out our greenhouse and connected our water butt to the downpipes so that we can harvest our own rainwater to feed to our plants in the drier summer months.
