New care home now open
Located close to the historic town of Maidstone, Cavell Park Care Home is situated on Sittingbourne Road, which is just a short drive from the M20 motorway. Maidstone and its surrounding areas boast famous sights such as the distinguished Leeds Castle and the renowned River Medway.
This impressive location is the birthplace of the father of English sonnets Sir Thomas Wyatt, and our home takes its name from the heroic First World War nurse Edith Cavell, who worked in Maidstone during her training. Nicknamed the events capital of Kent, Maidstone has much to offer our prospective residents – from river cruises and vineyard tours to trips around the stunning Moat Park nature reserve.
Cavell Park Care Home offers 24-hour residential, nursing and dementia care within an environment purpose-built for the practical delivery of high-quality care, whilst being stylish, comfortable and incorporating many thoughtful features that are always tailored towards the satisfaction and safety of our residents.
Experienced and empathetic care comes as standard at every Porthaven care home, and at Cavell Park Care Home our team of hand-selected staff are on hand to support not only the physical needs of our residents but their emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs too. We place a particular emphasis on encouraging independence and promoting wellbeing through good nutrition, hydration and socialisation.
Every resident at Cavell Park Care Home benefits from a generously sized bedroom with an ensuite wetroom, as well as numerous communal living areas for socialising with friends and family, engaging in their hobbies and dining. Our residents also have access to our state-of-the-art gym, cinema, café, treatment room and hair and nail salon. A dedicated activities and wellbeing room and a private dining room for special family celebrations completes the array of first-class facilities on offer.
Cavell Park Care Home is a place to live well in our care in style. We would be delighted to chat to you and show you around our home, to see what we could offer you or your loved one, so you can see for yourself what makes a Porthaven home so special.
To arrange a visit, please call our home manager Gemma Fryer, our client services manager Angela Reynolds or, if you prefer, simply send us a message.

View the full Cavell Park activities listingEarlier in the year, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to take our resident Dave for an afternoon of golf at our local driving range, Ridge Golf Club. Having previously played at his local club and in Portugal, Dave has a real passion for golf, so he thoroughly enjoyed getting out on the green again.
In his younger years, Dave also enjoyed football and once played for Troy Town F.C. He was also an assistant manager for Chatham Town F.C. and loves to spend time outdoors. We are certainly looking forward to Dave’s input as we prepare for this year’s Porthaven Garden Challenge!

Leading up to the event, our activities and wellbeing coordinators led a number of Valentines arts and crafts sessions so that our residents could produce their very own decorations for the occasion.
To round out the day, the couples in our home were invited to enjoy a romantic three course meal complete with wine and chocolates.
Read moreIn January we enjoyed a wonderful Burns Night celebration where our residents were treated to a selection of Scottish staples, including haggis and shortbread. As per tradition, our fantastic guest bagpiper piped in the haggis before walking around our different suites so that all of our residents could hear his superb music. Afterwards, we all settled in our tartan decorated lounge to listen to the bagpiper regale us with Burns Night tales and poetry.
